How does fast charging work?
Modern smartphones use lithium-ion batteries. It is already impossible to increase the operating time of such batteries, but you can speed up the charging process. Fast charging technologies optimize it in two ways: Quora

Many companies are developing their own fast-charging protocols, but Qualcomm’s technology called Quick Charge has gained widespread acceptance. Is fast-charging harmful for a smartphone?

However, when charging quickly, the battery becomes very hot, which reduces its service life. We do not recommend using the smartphone while charging, so as not to make it heat up even more.
