Sleeping: Google can remotely change Android settings
On the Reddit online platform, Android users have complained that their smartphones suddenly go into power-saving mode when the battery charge exceeds 90%. At first, it seemed that the problem affected only owners of gadgets from the Pixel series, but soon users of other Android smartphones reported the same problem.
Finally, a Google employee response appeared in the discussion. It turned out that this was an internal test for battery saving mode, which mistakenly affected more users than planned. The test was cancelled, and users were again able to change the settings at their discretion. The Google team apologized for the misunderstanding that arose by mistake.
It turned out that Google has long had the ability to change Android settings remotely. This seems terrible to many users, but this is the standard in today’s industry. For example, even Android users themselves can remotely determine the location of their smartphone or block it. Google developers theoretically have even more features. However, so far no one (probably except the developers) knew that Google could change system settings without the permission of its users.
