Therefore, Google decided to add the ability to adjust the sensitivity of this gesture to Android Q.
According to one of the users of Google Pixel 3 XL , he received a new build of Android Q, which is supposedly the fifth beta version of the update. The update includes an additional parameter for setting the sensitivity of the back gesture, which was not in previous builds of the operating system. It is a slider that allows you to adjust the force with which you need to drag your finger from the left edge of the screen to go back a step.
How to customize the back gesture in Android Q
To configure the “back” gesture as you need, you need to go to the control settings section and play with the slider, understanding how the sensitivity changes. “High sensitivity can cause unwanted bounces back when interacting with applications that involve working at the left edge of the screen,” Google warns.
According to the user who tested the new parameter, the ability to adjust the degree of sensitivity of the gesture has a positive effect on the controllability of the system. Thanks to him, he managed to almost completely eradicate random returns, which often could bring down all progress in applications or games. Now, to go back, you need to clearly drag your finger from the left side of the screen to its center, whereas before it was enough just to touch it.
