Samsung Galaxy A80 vs Galaxy S10 difference between the latest flagships?

Samsung Galaxy A80 vs Galaxy S10

More recently, Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone line . Somewhere in the future we are also waiting for a new device under the brand Note. However, now the South Korean company is pushing ahead with yet another flagship – the Galaxy A80. How is this smartphone different from the recent S10? How unique is it? Is it worth it to take a closer look and think about buying, or is it just another unremarkable smartphone? Let’s get it right.

Not much time has passed since Samsung launched the Galaxy S10, but the Galaxy A80 also has tons of advanced features.

Housing and display

The 6.7-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy A80 is significantly larger than the 6.1-inch Galaxy S10 display, and this size “accommodates” even more useful workspace due to the absence of a “hole” for the front camera. Both phones use Super AMOLED technology to convey color, but despite the smaller screen size, the Samsung Galaxy S10 has better screen resolution – 1440 x 3040 versus 1080 x 2400 on the Galaxy A80.

As for the case, the Galaxy A80 is noticeably thicker. The dimensions of the Galaxy A80 are 165.2 x 76.5 x 9.3 mm, and the Galaxy S10 is 149.9 x 70.4 x 7.8 mm. Case materials for each of the flagships, as they say, are “premium”. So there is a difference in tactile sensations, which everyone will have their own. It is worth mentioning only the moment that the A80 is more “square”, that is, without rounded corners, which makes it more “grasped”.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A80 camera is probably the most interesting feature on this device. The phone has a camera with a triple lens on the rear panel, which can be “removed” from the body and rotate when you want to take a selfie. This should allow the smartphone to take selfies of unprecedented high quality.

The triple camera has 48 megapixel lenses, an ultra-wide 8 megapixel lens and a telephoto lens to add depth to photos. Autofocus and zoom are also quite good. The Galaxy S10 camera is less advanced: the first lens has a resolution of 12 megapixels, 12 megapixels for a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide 16 megapixel lens.

Battery

While the Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a 3400 mAh battery, you get a 3700 mAh battery in the Galaxy A80. This is quite a bit more, but it’s still nice to get a couple of tens of minutes to work autonomy. At the same time, the Galaxy S10 supports wireless charging (with the charging function of other devices), while the A80 only supports fast charging by wire.

While the A80 has the Snapdragon 730 chipset, which is a great mid-range processor, the S10 boasts either the Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 (depending on the region), both of which are cutting-edge solutions. Both phones have 8 GB of RAM and both are running Android 9, both using the Samsung One user interface.

Total

In fact, the conclusions are not so obvious. On the one hand, we have in A80 a much better camera, and even a larger screen without “holes” and “bangs”. On the other hand, the S10 hardware is much more productive. In addition, the A80 is much “thicker” than its fellow, which not everyone will like. Like the “floating” camera. It looks interesting, but not everyone will like it.
